ABOUT GO WITH THAT

The Story Behind the Name

In EMDR therapy, when a client notices a feeling, memory, or body sensation, the therapist often says: “Go with that". It’s an invitation - to stay with whatever’s coming up without judgment, without rushing, and without needing to fix it.

Go With That Therapy captures what healing often requires: space, curiosity, and trust in your own inner process. It’s about allowing - not forcing - what’s already present to guide the work.

Whether you’re working through trauma, navigating relationships or sexuality, or just trying to make sense of who you are — this phrase is a reminder:
Healing starts by honouring what’s already here.

What to expect

Here’s what you can expect when working together...

Safety comes first:

Before we explore anything difficult, we focus on building safety - both in our relationship and through tools that help you feel grounded in daily life.

Your pace leads the way.
We move at a speed that feels right for you, especially when processing trauma, anxiety, or overwhelming emotions. There’s no rush and no pressure.

Methods that fit you - not the other way around.
I draw on a range of approaches including EMDR, TF-CBT, Parts work and somatic techniques, always adapting to your needs, age, and preferences.

Age and development matter.
Whether you’re a tween navigating identity or a Millennial managing burnout, therapy is shaped around where you’re at developmentally - not just chronologically.

Collaboration when helpful.
For younger clients, including parents or caregivers can support lasting change. But we’ll always explore together what kind of involvement feels safe and right for you.

The Approach

At Go With That Therapy, I believe:

Your mind and body know how to heal.
Just like a cut heals with the right care, your brain has its own ways of processing pain - sometimes it just needs the right conditions and support.

Healing happens in relationship.
The safety and connection we build in therapy become a foundation for growth. Being truly heard and understood can change everything.

Science and lived experience both matter.

I integrate evidence-based tools with attuned, person-centred care. Therapy is most effective when it blends research with what actually feels right for you.

You’re part of a bigger system.
Your wellbeing is connected to the world around you - family, school, work, community. We’ll honour those influences and navigate them together.
